About Volume Units

Volume measures the amount of three-dimensional space occupied by a substance. The cubic meter (m³) is the SI unit of volume, but the liter (L) is more commonly used for liquids and is exactly equal to one cubic decimeter (dm³).

Important relationships: 1 L = 1,000 mL = 1 dm³ = 1,000 cm³. One cubic meter contains exactly 1,000 liters. These conversions are essential in cooking, chemistry, medicine, and everyday life.
